Welcome to the Doddington’s Doings website!

Doddington Cambridgeshire SignDoddington is a village full of history, situated in Cambridgeshire, England, and the Doddington’s Doings is the village’s monthly newsletter.
Set in Fenland, between Chatteris and March, Doddington has two churches (St Mary’s Church and the Methodist Church) and around 900 houses.
There’s many clubs to suit everyone. For example, we have the Girl Guides, Scouts, Women’s Institute, the women’s section of the Royal British Legion, Short Mat Bowls Club, Outdoor Bowls Club, Cricket Club and an Under 5’s group and many more!
Every year without fail, the village puts on a carnival and sports day – and we are hoping the Christmas lights will come back to the village this year too.
St. Marys Church, DoddingtonThere are many footpaths around the village to soak up those fantastic Fenland views. There’s also Welney Wildlife Centre nearby and the RSPB reserve Ouse Washes at Manea.
You can view the newest issue of the Doddington’s Doings on the sidebar to the right, as well as back issues, our monthly poll and the ability to subscribe to the site.

Win! Father’s Day Competition 2015 with J.D Wetherspoon.

Fathers are the biggest source of strength for a child. The innocent eyes of a child perceive father as the all-powerful, most knowledgeable, truly affectionate and the most important person in the family.

For daughters, fathers are the first men they adore and fall in love with. While for sons their fathers are the strongest person they know and someone they aspire to emulate.

Even for adults fathers are someone who they look up to for the most experienced and honest advice that is always in the best of our interest. For this great figure in our life that we know as father – it becomes our utmost duty to pay our humblest tribute on the occasion of Father’s Day.

Father’s Day this year is on the 21st June (so not far!), and to help you celebrate the Doings would like to give one lucky reader a £30 Wetherspoons voucher to take your Dad out and spoil him at any J.D Wetherspoons bar or restaurant of your choosing.

All we are asking is that you either write us a letter post on our Facebook page (starting the post with FATHER’S DAY COMP), telling us why your dad is special to you, maybe he’s done something that stands above the rest.

Postal entries, please post to:
FATHER’S DAY COMP,
Doddington’s Doings,
8 Ingles Lane,
Doddington,
Cambs,
PE15 0TE

This competition is available for all ages. All entries need to be in by the 16th June 2015, and the winner will be notified on the 18th June 2015 and published in July’s issue.

Good luck!
