Askham Care Homes is looking for a volunteer to help repair some fabrics for its residents.
A spokesperson for Askham, which is located down Benwick Road in Doddington, said: “Do we have a kind hearted volunteer in the village who has a sewing machine and is itching to put it to good use?”
“We are looking for someone to help us out for a few hours on bedding items that need downsizing or repairing for our residents.”

Do I understand that we have a commercial company asking for a volunteer (no payment involved) asking for a volunteer to do some work for them? Nice move if you can pull it off. At the rates that they charge I would have that that new linen would be the order of the day, not repaired/altered items.
