This is my first time go to see at here and
i am truly impressed to read all at one place.
In my late teens I was a cross bearer , cleaner and grass cutter at St Mary’s. I had forgotten how beautiful it is ,the roof always reminded me of the hull of an upturned Gallion ! There was a mark etched into the outside wall which my friends told me was where flood water had reached to back in the day.
I was always cleaning bat dropping up ! The bats and the gargoyle type stone faces made it a formidable and mystical place !
The carved wood on the pews is also remarkable . A beautiful church .
